Amending the handbook because people posts outside links to stories they worked hard on? Telling people they can't do group theme days because it moves other content down? Shitting on people's cars and ideas constantly?

It's getting out of hand. I feel like I'm in the YouTube comments sometimes.

Can't we all just you know, get along again like we used to? It used to be pretty laid back around here, but damn some of you guys have been uptight and snippy lately.

I can't be the only one who notices this. And really, I'm on the end of my line and think I might take-off soon if things don't change.

(I'm sorry if it seems like I'm trying to start shit, I'm really not. Mods can take this post down if they need to.)

Saabstory brought up a valid point. Whether or not people agree with him its important to consistently reevaluate what you value in your forum experience.

Theme days have been under fire for years now, some people really like them others really dont.

Shitting on ideas and what not seems to be in the minority, no way to completely rid the site of that. I dont think its rampant by any means.

As a whole Oppo is fairly similar to what it was a few years ago, just with more people. More people means more opinions. I really dont notice much of a change whether it be between last month and now or 5.0 and now.

Sure, I was a little bit of a dick when I commented that you just reposted something from the FP back here to Oppo, you explained why, and that was that.

But then you also made some off the cuff comments to me regarding what you thought my opinion of something was, based on a different opinion of something else. (Trying to be vague here.)

Sounds to me like the exact same conduct you're calling into question right now.

Also - as one of the many that browse Oppo while at work, be it when sitting on a conference call, waiting on someone to send something over, whatever it may be - the theme days make it difficult to actually see the variety of things that attracted me here in the first place. Instead, I get 2 pages of pictures of Hyundai Tuscon Tuesday, and maybe one thing worth reading. It makes for a more difficult browsing experience when you don't have time to sit and sift through it all.

The reason I went off, was given the nature of the exchanges prior to that, it seemed neither like a joke, nor like someone was kidding. It honestly came across like a smartass response. I'll step up and apologize for unloading, but if you go back and reread that, it certainly did not come across as a humorous jab.

I've been saying that for years. 99% of the time, my replies are incredibly sarcastic. My whole deal yesterday was just attempting to justify my reasoning behind my opinion so I didn't come across as either a fan boy or a hater. Honestly, they're really nice cars; I wish the market would support them.

Hey. Hey hey hey.

I have been around Oppo as a content-contributor for awhile now, and lurked long before that. You don't need to talk to me about the spirit of Oppositelock. It's been the way it is for ages. People have always complained about things other people like. I think that my post was about as cordial and amicable as it could be, considering what it is.

I must also point out that you are being very, very hypocritical here. Asking everyone to get along, but then also claiming that I'm "shitting on people's ideas". That is a really inconsiderate thing to say, not to mention ironic.

If you expect others to respect you, respect others. We're all people, and we all love cars.
